Louise Bond is the current elected Clerk of Court for Ouachita Parish.
On August 1, 2011 Ms. Bond was appointed to Clerk of Court to fill the
remaining term for Retired Clerk, Bill Hodge. She then ran for the
position of Clerk and was elected on November 19, 2011. Her four year
term began on July 1, 2012.
Ms. Bond began her employment with the Clerk's Office on January 19, 1989,
as a Deputy Clerk. She worked in several departments within the
Clerk's Office which gave her the knowledge of how the Clerk's Office was to
operate.
Ms. Bond's main goal as Clerk of Court is Public Service. She believes
that assisting the Public with kindness and professionalism is her number
one priority.
The staff at the Clerk's Office is very well trained to assist the Public
with the needs they may have in finding information which is contained
within the office.
The Clerk's Office does not receive any tax money and is self-funded through
the operations of the office, such as recordings, copies and services
rendered. All salaries and expenses are paid from the money collected
from these services. The Clerk's filing fees are established by
statute and the Louisiana Legislature.
Ms. Bond plans to continue improving the technology within the office which
will improve the work ethics in the office as well as the online information
that is now available.
Since being elected, Ms. Bond has added the Civil Records to the Clerk's
online service and has added plats. The Public is now able to view all
records recorded in the Clerk's Office with the exception of Adoptions,
Juvenile Records and Judicial Commitments, which are not Public Record.
Her plans are to go back and add more of the old records online. Most
of the online records now begin in the 1980's.
